Using these self-positioning optomechanical mounts is a cost-effective way of rapidly assembling prototypes that will remain aligned under even the harshest operating and transport conditions. All mounts have been designed to be operated in a typical ground transport vehicle vibration environment while maintaining pointing stability under ±50 µrad.
Nominal positioning of all optics on the breadboard is easy with our QuickPOZ technology, since each mount can be located with high position repeatability using removable reference balls on INO’s special breadboard. These mounts integrate patent-pending technologies that enable users to position all optical components within ±50 µm @ 2 sigma of any mount assembled on the same breadboard in relation to the nominal optical axis. Because the mounts are automatically aligned once fixed to the breadboard, the alignment time is reduced to a minimum.
The mounts included in the QuickPOZ line-up can be used from the early prototyping to the small series phase.
High accuracy threaded reference balls are temporarily installed on INO’s proprietary breadboard to locate each mount with respect to the others. Threaded holes in the breadboard are precision machined to allow precise positioning of all mounts. To round out component positioning, each mount has been designed with tight tolerance reference characteristics.
The lenses are auto-centered on the mounts using our patent-pending QuickCTR-edge technology, which is based on the geometrical relationship between the retaining ring standard thread angle and the lens contact seat radius.
